We bring internationally recognized artists to Rockland to provide exciting, quality art instruction.
Most of our moderately sized classes, plein air or indoor, are based at our large studio at the Trade Winds Motor Inn, across the road from Rockland Harbor; the rest except our Windjammer Cruise are at local inns.
Rockland, one of the country’s best art destinations, has a wealth of scenic vistas to paint, and great food! The center of this very small city offers many galleries, shops, restaurants, museums and easy access to the waterfront which harbors both working and pleasure craft, sail and power.
Its mix of wealthy and working class architecture reflects its complex history, fascinating to paint.
Two hours up the coast from Portland, not far from quaint seaside villages, lighthouses, beaches and a ferry trip to Monhegan or other nearby islands, Rockland is just a few miles from the beautiful harbors of Camden and Rockport. If you’re considering making this a longer vacation, you might want to be around for
one or more of our famous mid-summer Festivals! Visit TheRealMaine.com for more information.
We’ll do everything we can to make your experience one that will bring you back again and again; some of our students and teachers have been coming for years! Your registration also includes a complimentary lobster dinner (other choices available), plus 24 hour studio access for classes held at the Trade Winds, and parking wherever you stay.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you! We also can offer housing and a special class rate for groups of 8-12.
If you have questions, contact me - I’m always happy to hear from people!
