Steve shows how watercolor behaves, painting and teaching in a straight forward, traditional style. His mastery of the medium allows him to virtually waltz thru the painting of reflections, layering color and handling dark values, making his demonstrations a powerful teaching tool.

Steve has several favorite local painting venues, and this year, will be taking the class to fabled Monhegan Island for a day! The boat to Monhegan leaves from Port Clyde, another fine place to paint and wait for the class to return, should you not want to make the trip.

The Island offers an array of great spots to paint, whether you want to stay near the boat landing, Fish Beach and the famous view of Manan, or hike around to the rocks and cliffs on the seaward side. (There are no cars on the Island.) You can bring lunch or eat on the Island…Be sure to bring your camera!
